Great Moments in Towson History pt 2: Laugh 'til it Hurts

So Jamaal aka "Darkness" has just had surgery for hernia. The hernia is giving him all types of hell. It looks like it hurts for him to move. So we (the fellas) see Jamaal at the Black Student Union (BSU) meeting we're he tells us he just had surgery and that he can't do a lot. One of the things he can't do is laugh. So we're like fine, we'll try our best not to make jokes. We all decide to go eat dinner at Glen Dining Hall. Jamaal never should've gone.

PJ was not at BSU meeting so he didn't know about Jamaal's condition-as if it would have mattered anyway. We're at the table and PJ is doing his usual joan on Big Tim routine. We're all laughing and Jamaal let's out something that sounded like "Ahahaha-huuuuuuuuuuu."

The man was in pain, but PJ was the only person who didn't know what was wrong. Jamaal proceeded to inform PJ what happened. That was like pouring gasoline on a fire.

The table was quiet for a while and then PJ began his onslaught. Out of nowhere came "I love kill puppies." It was so random that we just started rolling. There was no turning back. PJ kept it going to the point where Jamaal had to leave the table and go to the bathroom.

Except he couldn't make it all the way to the bathroom, he doubled over in pain before he got there. When Jamaal return to the table he just picked up his tray and left knowing that sitting with us any longer would just result in more pain.

When Jamaal was on his way out, PJ ran up to him and apologized saying he thought he was just joking. Nobody believed him. This was not the only time PJ had done something like that and used the "I didn't know" excuse. It was all good tho. Chances are, if the shoe was on the other foot, the same thing would've happened.

But damn...with friends like that, who needs enemies?

BRACKETOLOGY: JJ the Chef

He's the chef because he cooks. JJ Redick has been cooking all year long. Now, I am in that large majority of the US population that hates Duke. However, you have to respect what he's been able to do. I've witnessed the treatment he takes from the fans in public and people just say the worst things to him. He gets fouled just about every time he touches the ball and gets the other teams best defender every game. Yet, he still fries. Now that he's learned to put the ball on the floor, he's been able to put up numbers that are extraordinary. I just have to give JJ a hand clap.

That at-large bid for George Mason is looking pretty good right now. In a must win game on the road, in an hostile environment and against a good team, the Patriots got it done. That's more than you can say for Syracuse, Stanford, Maryland and Indiana.

On to the bracket. The Pod system creates some interesting dilemmas. Who goes where? The sites out West create the biggest problems. There's never that many good teams from the West. So you know someone is gonna get screwed in the end. This week the two screwees are Pittsburgh and Florida. Sorry guys, gotta sell tickets. Alas, a different Final Four this week: Washington vs. Minneapolis and Oakland vs. Atlanta. This is good for games through February 19.
